AdventureQuest, Mechquest, Dragon Fable, all are owned by the same big company, and it shows. As the review read, a lot of the game is grinding, pure continuous grinding. Need to finish a quest? Beat a monster. Need to fight in the war? Beat a monster. Need to light a candle? You can almost be sure you'll have to fight a monster.

The benefit of it, is, as the site says, it's a lunchtime sized game. Hop to the site, put in your name and password, select a character, go in, quest, and you're done. The lack of needing to roam and explore does simplify a large section of the game.

The game doesn't take itself too seriously, which is a point in favor in my opinion. DragonFable is more plot oriented, and MechQuest is the newest iteration, with a lot of extras, but Adventurequest still remains a popular game.

Personally, I enjoyed Adventurequest for a while, and am a guardian, although I haven't played in... a year. Roughly. The news on the front page grows and grows and grows, so I may very well be several months of play time behind the average player.

It's a fun game, a good time waster, and while a bit repetitive can keep you occupied for several hours very easily. What did you think about it?
