I'm a staff member from the English version coolcamels.com and I have to say I was kinda saddened by the review it received. I've been on the site since it reopened in 2003, when I was just a kid, and I have to say it really is a great site.
You can't just make an account and stay on for two days and get to know it. It's not a huge community. It's this small close knit community with tons of great people.
Now when the review says, "The site originally being in Hungarian proves to be a problem for the English version of the site." I agree with that translation issues aside. The company is Hungarian and therefore the majority of effort and whatnot goes into the Hungarian site. However, that doesn't mean no effort goes into the English site.
The moderation staff (which is what I'm a part of) is very dedicated to making it a better site. We've cleaned it up a tonne since June (which is when I can assume the review was written). We don't get paid for it; we do it because we love the actual site. So it's disheartening when you read something like that. Because then you know people aren't going to join and that's what CC needs. More people to breathe life into it.
I just wish I could more to show people this. Don't go into the 3D chat. It's horrible. Go into the regular chat. I can assure that you'll meet some amazing people.
