What is a BBMMO?

Good question! BBMMO's are "Browser Based Massively Multiplayer Online"...uh... games. To put it simply, a BBMMO is any gaming/adventure experience you can play 100% using only your web browser, with other people. (Usually these make great candidates for playing at work, school, or briefly any time you can reach a computer!)

Over time BBMMO's have evolved through several stages. Here is a breakdown:

1st Generation: Mostly strategic games. These were page refreshing 'kingdom building' games. Very popular back before 1999. You usually had a set number of turns per day that you could do something, and it was VERY html-ish. Many of these still exist to this day.
2nd Generation: Neopets, MrTiki, and so on. These are what largely make up the marketplace right now. Page to page browser maps, image virtual items, paper doll dressup, etc. Flash tends to make up a large portion of their interactive content. Everyone should know what these are, since the majority of BBMMO.com is made up of them.
3rd Generation: This is the cusp of where BBMMO's are at. They are more like Club Penguin, a fully immersive experience, that can range from a Diablo type of experience, to mini games, all played without ever refreshing a page, and fully multiplayer - yet always simple, through your browser, with no application/installer.

What do I do here?

If you're not learning about all things BBMMO then you're doing it all wrong. An average day on BBMMO should go something like this:

dish about the "goings-on" on your site of choice
comment on reviews
submit your own review
find cheats
chat amongst yourselves
meet a friend or two
log off

What is the yellow bar?

The yellow bar represents your accumulated points on the site. You earn these for contributing opinions, tutorials, knock knocks & other useful things.

Can I be an admin?

We're always on the lookout for dedicated admins. A good admin is someone who cares deeply about the welfare of their fellow BBMMOers and has an expansive knowledge of the space.

What do I do if I forget my password?

At this point? Nothing. Cry.

How do I gain/use points?

Gaining points gains you levels... sort of like a social status. You can use points for stuff, of course. Here are some ways to use/gainn points.

Login on a new day (+20 points)
Refer a friend to sign up (+20 points)
Someone you referred gains a level (+10 * level)
Post/Reply in the forum (+1 point)
Post a Cheat, Tip, or Trick (-20 points)
Vote on a Cheat, Tip, or Trick (-5 points)
Match votes on a Cheat/Tip/Trick (+2 points)
Receive a 4 or 5 vote on a Tip or Trick you submitted (+3 to +4 points)
Receive a reply to a post you make (+1 point)
Receive a reply to a topic you create (+3 points)
Rate a BBMMO (-25 points)
Somebody rates a BBMMO identically to your rating (+2 point)
Give somebody props (-5 points)
Receive props from someone (+1 point)
Do an achievement/get a badge (highly variable)
