Anybody else annoyed by how long it takes to earn points? I've tried so many times to play neopets but it takes soooo long to get points

Re: points

Hmmm well aren't they more valuable then? I could see how it makes for a slow start into the game though.

Re: points

it is really annoying. I dislike how the games are so hard, and you get so little points!

Re: points

And then everything you want to buy is so expensive. Do you have any tips on getting points?

Re: points

Why are they facing inflation problems? It's not like they're short on natural resources

Sorry, but a virtual world with natural resources? XD

Anyway, neopets has inflation issues because there are too many ways to earn neopoints *coughflashgamescough* and not enough drains for them.

Look at it this way:
If people average owning $10 and you have $30 you are rich and can buy a lot of stuff! But if people can earn infinite money, and suddenly everyone averages $30 it is nothing special anymore. Thus, prices go up, because the same amount of money is worth less.

end mini-economics lesson

Re: points

Well explained Emmy ^^ *prop'd*

Emmy is right... there are way too many flash games on neopets and too few items. Its now virtually impossible to earn money for anything. Its why I gave up trying.

Re: points

You just have to find games that you are good at.
I think if you are new to the site then it is difficult to get points straight away, you will find you will play neopets for about an hour a day doing "dailies" and playing some of the games you like best to do money. When I used to play on the site, I made most of my money from selling items in my shop which where difficult to come by and also buying a LOT of shares in the stockmarket.
Just play for a bit every day and your points will add up!

Re: points

Unfortunately, with the neopets auto price adjusting system, a lot of items you could buy and sell have become unprofitable, because now the prices are closer to user shop prices. Which of course just complicates things further with inflated prices. Before it was low in shop, but if you wanted it fast, buy it from a user for more. Now? Buy it from store for more, or buy it from user for more.

Inflation is also complicated by the sheer number of income options. Not just flash games, since you're limited to 3 plays for at most 1000 np a day. But the luck based ones. The people who suddenly gain 3 to 5 million NP by winning at Graal Keno, or at Krawk Slots, or any of the other luck based games. You might never see that much money, but because someone gets lucky eventually, there's always more and more people with huge amounts of money.

Re: points

Before I really quit playing, I had already gotten the secret lab map and 2 mil NP. I really only get on to feed my pets, and it only takes 20np about every three days.

The thing I don't get is, why would you spend 5+ np on a piece of food that will only up your pet's hunger level by one, when you can check into the roach tower (or whatever the cheapest hotel is) for 5 np for one day and feed the pet until they are bloated. It saves a lot of np, but it may take a bit of the fun out of the game.

Re: points

Frog... that is one of the many downfalls of neopets XD Many people don't even pay to feed their pet anymore.. and pets are barely even the main thing there now o_O You needn't even FEED them... they don't die, so why waste np?

Re: points

Same. I think it is really annoying with the point system. It's not worth blowing your money off for the items. But thats my opinion.
